Garlic Whipped Potatoes & Rutabagas
All the ease of normal whipped potatoes but with a weird sounding vegetable!
Yield: 8 servings
- 2 large rutabagas, cubed
- 8 medium potatoes, cubed
- 1 small onion, cut into quarters
- 7 cloves garlic
- 10 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 - 1/3 cup Milk
- Place the rutabagas, potatoes, onion, and garlic into a large stock pot. Add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer without a lid for 20-25 minutes until the rutabagas are softened.
- Remove from heat and drain. Return to the pot and add the butter, salt, and pepper. Whip (or mash if you're old school). Add enough milk to give it the desired consistency.
- Serve hot.
