A recipe for a soup that you can cook up without too much trouble.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped celery leaves
- 4 tbsp flour
- 8 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 3 cans cream corn (15 oz each)
- 3 medium potatoes, skinned and cut into 1/2 pieces
- Parsley
- Paprika
Directions
- Cook bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towel. Break into small pieces.
- Place six tbsp bacon grease into large pot. Add onions and celery. Cook over medium heat until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in flour. Cook another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in milk. Heat until simmering, stirring constantly.
- Add bacon, pepper, corn, and potatoes. Continue simmering over low heat.
- Serve and top with parsley & paprika.
