Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast
- 2 tsp milled flax seed
- 3 - 3 1/2 cups flour, divided
Directions
- In mixing bowl, combine the water, butter, egg, salt, spices, and yeast and mix well. Add the milled flax seed and 1 cup for flour and mix until you have a thick goo.
- Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until it forms a dough.
- Knead for 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greast mixing bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise until doubled, about 60 minutes.
- Turn the dough ona floured surface. Divide into 16 equal pieces and shape each into a ball. Place on greased baking sheets. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 40 minutes.
- Bake at 375ºF for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm.
