The bribe needed for feeding my chinchillas while I was traveling: peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 10 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Cream together the sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, butter, and egg. Mix in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the chocolate chips.
- Spoon 1 1/4-inch balls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly (but don't totally squish them).
- Bake at 360°F for 7-8 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
