Ingredients
- 1 package (12 oz.) ground sausage
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 cups milk
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Buttermilk biscuits
Directions
- Brown the sausage in a large skillet. Remove the cooked sausage using a slotted spoon, leaving the drippings in the pan. Set the sausage aside.
- Add the butter to the dripping & melt over medium-low heat. Add the flour and whisk together to make a roux.
- Add the milk, salt, and pepper. Raise to medium heat and simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Add the sausage back into the gravy and stir together.
- Cut the warm buttermilk biscuits in half. Spoon gravy over the biscuits and serve hot.
