Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cranberries
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Fresh thyme
- Gin
- Tonic
Directions
- In a saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, water, and orange juice. Bring to a simmer and cook until the cranberries pop, just like making cranberry sauce. Add the thyme and let simmer for another 10 minutes to let the flavors mix.
- Pour the sauce through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl. Using the back of a spoon, press the puree through until all the liquid is collected and only solids remain. Discard the solids.
- If desired, you can can the syrup in a clean Mason jar.
- Refrigerate the syrup until ready to use.
- To assemble the cocktail, combine:
- 1 oz. syrup
- 2 oz. gin
- 2 oz. tonic
