Ingredients
- Whole chicken
- Olive oil
- Dry rub
- BBQ sauce
Directions
- Cut the tips off the chicken wings. Truss the chicken with butcher's twine.
- This is a good video if you don't know how to truss a chicken.
- Put the chicken on the rotisserie spit according to your grill manufacturer's instructions.
- Over a large bowl, drizzle some olive oil onto the chicken. Spread it around with your hand to make sure the chicken is well coated.
- Liberally sprinkle your dry rub over the chicken.
- Transfer the spit to your grill. Place a drip pan below the chicken. Cook between 350-375°F for about 20 minutes per pound.
- Check the temperature with a meat thermometer at the end to make sure it's completely cooked.
- Brush with BBQ every 30 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the rotisserie, cover with aluminum foil, and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Carve and serve immediately.
