Yield: 1 large pizza
Ingredients
- 1 lb. pizza dough
- 1 cup hummus
- 1/2 lb. mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 lb. gyro meat
- 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
- Tzatziki sauce
Directions
- If using a pizza stone, warm it in the oven @ 500°F.
- Roll the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle.
- Sprinkle some cornmeal on the hot stone. Transfer the dough onto the stone and back for 7 minutes. Remove from the oven.
- Spread the hummus over the crust. Sprinkle with the mozzarella and gyros meat. Return to the oven and bake 7-8 minutes longer. The cheese should be fully melted.
- Remove the pizza from the oven. Top with feta cheese.
- Return to the oven, baking for 1-3 minutes until the pizza is browned.
- Remove the pizza from the oven. Top with red onions and tomatoes.
- Serve hot with tzatziki sauce.
