Beef Stroganoff

This is Gwen's go-to recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 16 oz. egg noodles, prepared al dente

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat.  Sauté the onion until tender.
  2. Add the beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the garlic, salt, pepper, and cream of chicken soup.  Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and mix well.  Cook over low heat until heated through.
  5. Serve over the prepared egg noodles.
